Idrija Žlikrofi Festival 2026
Idrija žlikrofi are much more than a traditional dish. They are a protected culinary speciality, a symbol of Idrija and one of its greatest stories. At this year's festival, you will be able to taste them in more than 35 different creations – from the classic recipe to bold contemporary interpretations. Alongside the food, you can enjoy local wines, craft beers, signature cocktails and a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

This year's highlights include a Craft Corner featuring demonstrations of traditional lace-making, spinning and felting techniques, as well as cooking workshops with former MasterChef Slovenia contestants. Dan Prohart will pair Slovenian fish with Idrija žlikrofi, while Žiga Gabrovec will prepare dishes using protected local products and ingredients.
Borderless Becirk
Discover stuffed dumpling traditions from near and far. Alongside Idrija žlikrofi, visitors will be able to taste Kobarid štruklji, Carinthian cheese noodles (Kärntner Kasnudeln) from Austria and Nepalese momos.
Family & Music Programme
The youngest visitors can enjoy a full day of creative workshops and activities organised by the Idrija Youth Centre and the Friends of Youth Association. Cycling enthusiasts can choose from three Tour de Žlikrofi routes, ranging from a relaxed ride to the challenging climb to Špičasti vrh.
Throughout the day, the festival atmosphere will be created by Suho Cvetje, while the evening will culminate with a concert by HELP! A Beatles Tribute, followed by an afterparty with DJ Rekordman and DJ August Braatz.
Hop-on Hop-off Bus
During the festival, visitors can also take advantage of the free Hop-on Hop-off Bus, connecting Idrija's main attractions. In Idrija, UNESCO heritage awaits around every corner.
